Meetings on Zoom: Sound Healing Rest™ experiential practices will be held both in AM and PM varied once a week. Taught classes will be varied on Saturday and Sunday mornings Central Time to give opportunities to attend live. Attending live is not required as each session will be recorded. In person experiential practices held at Peaceful Wellness Madison Studio.

Q: What if I have no prior training or experience in sound healing?

A: No prior experience in sound healing is necessary to enroll in the Sound Healing Rest™ program. The course is designed to accommodate beginners as well as those with some experience. We start with foundational concepts and gradually build up to more advanced techniques.

Q: I only own one or two sound healing instruments. Is that sufficient to start the course?

A: Absolutely! While having a variety of instruments can enrich your practice, it's not a requirement to begin. The course will teach you how to effectively use whatever instruments you have. As you progress, you might feel inspired to expand your collection, but it's not a necessity to get started.

Q: What if I don't have any sound healing instruments?

A: If you don't currently own any sound healing instruments, don't worry. The course includes guidance on choosing your first instrument and alternatives you can use to begin your practice. There are also many ways to incorporate sound without traditional instruments, and these methods will be explored within the course.

Q: Is this program suitable for those who primarily practice yoga or meditation without a focus on sound?

A: Yes, the Sound Healing Rest™ program is ideal for yoga and meditation practitioners who wish to incorporate sound into their practice. The program will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to integrate sound healing seamlessly with yoga and meditation.

Q: Can I take this course if I'm not a yoga teacher but interested in sound healing and Yoga Nidra?

A: Certainly! While the program is beneficial for yoga teachers, it's also suitable for anyone interested in learning about sound healing and Yoga Nidra. Whether for personal development or to start a journey as a practitioner, this course welcomes all levels of interest and experience.

Q: How much time should I commit to this course each week?

A: Ideally, you should plan to spend about 2-3 hours per week on the course. This includes the time for the live sessions (if attending live) and any additional practice or reading you do on your own. But you can go at your own pace too.

Q: Will there be opportunities for hands-on practice and feedback?

A: Yes, hands-on practice is a key component of the Sound Healing Rest™ program. You will have opportunities to practice the techniques you learn, both during live sessions and in your own time. Feedback will be provided in live sessions and through designated channels for communication with instructors and peers.

Q: What kind of certification will I receive upon completion?

A: Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive a Sound Healing Rest™ Certification. This certificate acknowledges your skills and knowledge in sound healing and Yoga Nidra, qualifying you to incorporate these practices into your teachings or personal wellness routines.

Meet Deb, Your Guide to Inner Peace

With a soothing presence and over four decades of dedication to the healing arts, Deb brings a depth of knowledge, practice, and passion to the journey of self-discovery and well-being. As an accomplished Meditation Practitioner and Teacher since 1980, Deb has nurtured minds at all stages of the meditation journey, from newcomers seeking stress relief to seasoned practitioners deepening their practice.

Her qualifications extend to being a certified Mindfulness Coach, Sound Energy Practitioner, Spiritual Mentor, and Yoga Teacher with a specialized focus on meditation. Deb's holistic approach to healing is rooted in her extensive training in various meditation disciplines, including mindfulness and yoga nidra, which has equipped her with a diverse toolkit to assist her clients.

In-Depth Yoga Nidra Expertise:

Deb's expertise in Yoga Nidra is built on a foundation of rigorous study and practical application. She has studied under renowned figures in the field, including:

  • iRest Yoga Nidra: Under the guidance of Richard Miller and Stephanie Lopez, Deb has refined her approach to integrate the iRest protocol, known for its therapeutic applications.
  • Yoga Nidra Instruction: Her skills are further shaped by insights from training programs with Tamara Skyhawk and also Scott Moore. From both, she gained a breadth of strategies for inducing yogic sleep.
  • Yoga Teacher Training Mentorship: As a 500-hour trained yoga teacher and mentor, Deb has not only mastered her craft but also imparted her wisdom to students, with a particular emphasis on the transformative practice of Yoga Nidra.

Deb Phelps, C.MI, MMT, E-RYT500, LVCYT, YACEP is the founder of Peaceful Wellness Institute and is an experienced Meditation Teacher and Practitioner since 1980, in addition to being a certified Mindfulness Coach, Sound Energy Practitioner, and Yoga Specialist. She offers a unique approach to help clients overcome various challenges such as stress, anxiety, PTSD, and grief, enabling them to live purposeful and joy-filled lives. Having faced significant life obstacles herself, Deb relied on various mind-body-spirit practices to overcome them and find a life of contentment and equanimity. With extensive education and life experience, including living in a spiritual community for a year, Deb inspires and assists others in their pursuit of a fulfilling life.
